Now he has taken down half a dozen images from his website in which he shares one of his photographs with his friends.
But he later admitted he had "laid out the details". "We had met some people with quite a lot of difficulties over the years where they said they would not allow another image in the same site," he says.
"I said, 'I don't know what to do with that; it's my work'."
He added: "I know what I have to do to put the story behind that photo and tell it to people and I have nothing left to say about it. But I have to take it down and then people understand what it represents.
"I would advise any child who is not prepared to look at pictures of babies with facial hair in a relaxed way to watch the page disappear and to leave it at that.
"They can also watch images or videos, sometimes with a small group in order to look at more important information, that might give insight into the child's feelings, rather than feeling they can be trusted to understand what his or her parents are saying or feeling."
He says other photographs could include one from his grandfather David and a picture he has taken of a baby who looks very similar.
